Tips: Difference between non-contact infrared thermometers and contact thermometers
Non-contact infrared thermometer:
- Non-contact infrared thermometer/temperature gun makes no difference on the measured object.
- Contactless IR thermometer can only detect the surface temperature of the object.
- With fast response, non-contact infrared thermometer can measure the temperature of objects in motion and transient temperature.
- Wide range of measurement, high measurement accuracy and small resolution.
- Non-touch infrared thermometer can measure the temperature of a small area.
- It can simultaneously measure temperature at points, lines, and surfaces.
- Non-contact infrared thermometer not only can measure absolute temperature, but also can measure the relative temperature.
Contact thermometer:
- Contact temperature measurement has an effect on the temperature field of the measured object.
- It is not suitable for measuring transient temperature and the temperature of objects in motion.
- The measuring range of contact thermometer is not wide enough to the one of non-contact IR thermometer, and contact thermometer uses more materials.
- It is not suitable for toxic, high pressure and other dangerous occasions.
