Tips: Fire Pump Troubleshooting

  • Check for power supply issues. The first step in troubleshooting a fire pump is to check if it's receiving the required power supply. Ensure that the circuit breaker or fuse is not tripped, and the power switch is turned on.
  • Inspect the motor. If the power supply is okay, the next step is to inspect the motor.  Check if there are any loose connections or damaged wires.
  • Check the pump impeller. The impeller is a critical component of the fire pump.  Inspect it for any damage or debris that may be obstructing its rotation. Ensure that the impeller is clean, free of dirt or debris, and securely fastened.
  • Test the water supply. The fire pump requires a consistent water supply to operate efficiently.
