Tips: How to Use Fire Pump?

  • Make sure the pump is adequately primed with water before starting it.
  • Start the fire pump by turning on the motor or engine, following the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Open the discharge valve gradually, allowing the water pressure to build up slowly. This helps to prevent water hammer and damage to the piping system.
  • Monitor the water pressure and flow rate using pressure gauges and flow meters to ensure that they are within the recommended range for the fire protection system.
  • If necessary, adjust the throttle or speed of the engine or motor to maintain the correct water pressure and flow rate.
  • Shut off the fire pump and close the discharge valve once the fire is extinguished or the emergency is over.
