Tips: How to dry a control transformer?

There are two methods of controlling transformer drying: One is the induction heating method, and the other is hot air drying method.

1. Induction heating method

This method is to place the body in the oil tank, apply power frequency current to the outer winding coil, and use the heat of eddy current loss in the oil tank wall to dry. At this time, the temperature of the box wall shall not exceed 115℃ ~ 120 ℃, and the temperature of the body shall not exceed 90℃ ~ 95 ℃. For the convenience of winding the coil, the number of turns of the coil shall be as small as possible or the current shall be as small as possible. Generally, the current shall be 150A, and the conductor can use 35-50mm conductor. The oil tank wall can be padded with several asbestos strips, and the wires are wound on the asbestos strips.

2. Hot air drying method

This method is to put the body in the drying room and dry it with hot air. The temperature of hot air at the inlet shall gradually rise, and the maximum temperature shall not exceed 95 ℃. A filter shall be installed at the inlet of hot air to prevent sparks and dust from entering people. Do not blow hot air directly to the body. Try to blow it evenly from the bottom of the body to all directions, so that the moisture will be released from the vent hole of the box cover.
