Note:

  1. When the load is a resistive load, the maximum load current of the selected SSR should be 2~3 times greater than the actual load current;
  2. When the load is an inductive load, the maximum load current of the selected SSR should be more than 7~8 times the actual load current.
  3. When the maximum load current is higher than 10A, a heat sink must be installed to the solid state relay, or the SSR relay should be mounted on a metal base plate with heat dissipation effect, and the thermal grease is applied between them.

Tips: How to choose the current of solid state relay?

Taking into account the fluctuations in grid voltage and large instantaneous current when the load starts, the current of solid state relays (SSR) is generally several times larger than its rated current, and thyristor chip’s resistance to current impact is poor, it is recommended in the selection of the current of SSR, appropriate margin should be left.

  1. Resistive load
    The SSR relay nominal current should be twice as large as the rated load current.
  2. Inductive load
    The nominal current should be 2.5 times as large as the rated current of the load for light load; 3 times for middle-sized load; and 4 ~ 4.5 times for heavy load.
