Tips: What are Butterworth, Chebyshev & Bessel filters?

Butterworth filter’s characteristic is that, frequency response curve inside pass frequency band has maximum flattening without ripple, while it drops down to zero at stop band. In the Poter diagram of logarithmic diagonal frequency of amplitude, from one side angular frequency, amplitude will reduce according to angular frequency increase, tending to negative infinity. Butterworth filter frequency characteristic curve is monotonic function of frequency no matter in pass band or blocking band. Therefore, when the boundary of pass band meets the index requirement, it definitely has margin in pass band. Therefore, the more effective design method is, distributing accuracy evenly in the whole pass band or blocking band, or distributing between them at the same time. This can satisfy the requirement with low order system. This can be achieved by choosing approximating function with equal ripple characteristic.

Bessel filter is a linear filter with the maximum flattening group delay (linear phase response). Bessel filter is usually used in audio flyover system. Analog Bessel filter is described as almost stretching over the whole pass band constant group delay; therefore it keeps the filtering signal wave form in pass band. Bessel filter has the flattest amplitude and phase response. Phase response of pass band is almost near linear. Bessel filter can be used to reduce the inherent non-linear phase distortion of all IIR filter.

Chebyshev filter is a filter of frequency response to amplitude in equal ripple fluctuation in pass band or stop band. Amplitude characteristic in pass band is equal ripple. In stop band it is monotonous and called Chebyshev filter I. Amplitude characteristic in pass band is monotonous and in blocking band is equal ripple, which is called Chebyshev filter II. Using which type of Chebyshev filter depends on practical application.

Builder in Product TAB

NEW! Since Journal 3.2, the much improved T.A.B (Tabs Accordion Blocks) system supports the page builder inside the tab content. Unlimited Blocks, Tabs or Accordions with any HTML content or the builder interface (supporting custom rows/columns/modules) can be assigned to any individual product or to certain groups of products, like entire categories, brands, products with specific options, attributes, price range, etc. You can indicate any criteria via the advanced product assignment mechanism and only those products matching your criteria will display the modules. Also, any module can be selectively activated per device (desktop/tablet/phone), customer login status and other criteria. Imagine the possibilities.
