Tips: Main circuit of linear DC power supply

The linear DC power supply is actually a high power transistor connected in series at the output end of the thyristor power supply (actually multiple ones are connected in parallel). As long as the control circuit outputs a small current to the base of the transistor, it can control the output high current of the transistor. This makes the power supply system stabilize again on the basis of the SCR power supply, so the voltage stabilization performance of this linear stabilized power supply is 1-3 orders of magnitude better than that of the switching power supply or the SCR power supply. However, the power transistor (also known as the regulator) generally takes up 10V, and every 1A of output current will consume 10W of power inside the power supply. For example, the loss of a 500V 5A power supply is 50W, which accounts for the total output power Of 2%.
