Tips: Limit switch structure

In order to adapt to high mechanical strength and harsh environment, the limit switch is assembled and sealed in a metal or resin housing to protect the built-in micro switch from external force, water, oil, gas and dust.

  1. Built-in switch
    The built-in switch adopts a snap-action mechanism. Operating plunger withstanding external force or action, the movable contact is moved from the lower normally closed (NC) contact to the upper normally open (NO) contact. A contact type that does not have a common (COM) pin and has a set of NO pins (a contact) and NC pins (b contact) is called a 1a1b contact type. General limit switches are used in this way. In addition, there is a 1c contact type limit switch composed of three pins of NO, NC and COM, which can be connected to the pins of the built-in switch with external connection wires directly.
  2. Switch box
    Used to enclose and protect built-in switches, made of metal or resin with excellent mechanical strength. There is a conduit port in the lower part of the switch box for installing a special connector. It is used to fix the external connection line and seal and protect the internal mechanism.
  3. Actuator
    External force or motion is transmitted to the built-in switch via the internal plunger. The movable part connecting the external actuator and the internal mechanism is sealed with a ring or a seal, and the built-in switch is enclosed therein. Typical actuator shapes are lever type, plunger type, spring type, etc., which can be used according to different purposes.
  4. Switch housing cover
    On the pins of the built-in switch of the limit switch, after the external connection wires are laid out, the switch housing cover should be installed. Seal the chimerical part of the switch box and housing cover with a rubber seal.
