Tips: Roles of Capacitance

• Bypass. The bypass capacitor is an energy storage device that provides energy to the local device. It can homogenize the output of the voltage regulator and reduce the load requirement. Like a small rechargeable battery, the bypass capacitor can be charged and discharged to the device. To minimize impedance, the bypass capacitor should be close to the power supply pin and ground pin of the load device. This can well prevent the input value is too large and lead to ground potential elevation and noise.
• Storage. Energy storage capacitors collect charge through the rectifier and transfer the stored energy to the output end of the power supply through the converter lead.
