Tips: What happens to a pneumatic actuator if the filter regulator is damaged?
During the air stroke, if the filter regulator is lost and the compressor output pressure is higher than the minimum pressure, the pneumatic actuator will continue to travel without excessive torque. Ultimately, any final pressure above the minimum pressure will be exerted on the mechanical end plug. This plug is designed to withstand a maximum supply pressure of 12 bar for most of our pneumatic actuators. If the valve is stuck during travel under the conditions of filter failure and increased air pressure supplied to the MOP value as described above, the actuator output torque produced by the cylinder may exceed (depending on the supplied intake air pressure) MAST execution Technically speaking, if the actuator is selected with both minimum and maximum supply pressure in mind (by selecting "mandatory actuator MAST" in the selection table), the actuator MAST problem goes away, but in most cases Under these conditions, the size of the output model is too large for negligible commercial impact and possible problems with valve MAST. One possible suggestion to eliminate or at least reduce oversizing is to introduce a relief valve to limit the actual maximum pressure to a level well below the maximum pressure the compressor can deliver.
