Tips: Portable diesel generator maintenance

The routine maintenance cycle of small and portable diesel generator set is divided into daily, weekly, semi annual and annual maintenance. These Regulations are detailed in the general instructions. The maintenance personnel can ensure the normal operation of small diesel generator set as long as they comply with them.

If the unit is usually only in no-load or light load trial operation, and the load is more than 5% of the rated load, the unit shall be started for at least 4 hours a year. For the standby portable diesel generator set, at least once every half a year shall simulate the mains power outage, verify the starting performance and expected rated bearing capacity of the unit, check the automatic switch and relevant configuration of the standby power supply. A more thorough maintenance shall be carried out once a year, including change oil, oil filter, clean air filter and diesel filter. In addition, in order to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the diesel generator motor, the motor must be overhauled. The overhauling items include winding condition test and bearing inspection. In addition, the oil engine must be checked before and during operation.
