Harmonic Drive Gearbox Applications

Tips: What are the components of harmonic drive?
- Rigid wheel: rigid internal gear, generally 2 teeth more than the flexible wheel, generally fixed on the housing.
- Flexible wheel: a thin cup-shaped metal elastic component with a gear on the outer ring of the
- opening, which deforms with the rotation of the wave generator, and is usually connected with the output shaft.
- Wave generator: It consists of an elliptical cam and a flexible bearing, usually attached to the input shaft. The inner ring of the flexible bearing is fixed to the cam and the outer ring can be deformed elastically to an ellipse by means of a ball.
