Use Methods

Tips for Using a Screw Jack

  1. Before lifting a heavy object, pay attention to the position of the jack so that it remains vertical to prevent the screw from bending and causing accidents.
  2. When loading, force should be used to shake the handle evenly, so as to avoid accidents and damage to the screw jack caused by up-and-down impact.
  3. When in use, care should be taken not to exceed the maximum load-carrying capacity allowed to prevent accidents caused by overloading.
  4. When in use, the lifting height shall not exceed the marking line on the sleeve or piston, and for the jack without the marking line, the lifting height shall not exceed 3/ 4 of the total height of the screw clasp or oil plug, so as not to remove the sleeve or piston top, Damage the Jack and cause an accident.
  5. Before loosening the screw jack to make a heavy object land, it is necessary to check beforehand whether the heavy object has been supported firmly and then release it slowly so as to ensure safety.
  6. Butter shall be used for lubrication during storage to prevent excessive wear and reduce service life.

Applications

A screw jack, also known as a mechanical screw jack, is a device that is used to lift heavy loads vertically by converting rotational motion into linear motion, widely used in a variety of applications where heavy loads need to be lifted, such as in building support, bridge construction, and material handling.

Tips: How does the screw thread provide a mechanical advantage in a screw jack?

The screw thread in a screw jack provides a mechanical advantage through the principle of the inclined plane. The screw thread is a continuous helical structure that is wrapped around the cylindrical rod of the screw. When the screw is rotated, the nut attached to the load moves up or down the length of the screw, depending on the direction of the rotation.

The distance between two adjacent threads on the screw is called the pitch of the screw. As the screw is rotated, the pitch of the screw allows for the same amount of linear movement to be achieved with a smaller amount of rotational movement. In other words, the pitch of the screw acts like a ramp, allowing the force applied to the screw to be translated into a greater force to lift the load.

For example, if the pitch of the screw is 1mm and the screw is rotated one full turn (360 degrees), the nut attached to the load will move up or down by the same distance of 1mm. If the screw is rotated half a turn (180 degrees), the nut will move by only 0.5mm.

By applying a force to the screw, a greater force can be exerted on the load due to the mechanical advantage provided by the inclined plane of the screw thread. This allows a screw jack to lift heavy loads with relatively little effort.

Builder in Product TAB

NEW! Since Journal 3.2, the much improved T.A.B (Tabs Accordion Blocks) system supports the page builder inside the tab content. Unlimited Blocks, Tabs or Accordions with any HTML content or the builder interface (supporting custom rows/columns/modules) can be assigned to any individual product or to certain groups of products, like entire categories, brands, products with specific options, attributes, price range, etc. You can indicate any criteria via the advanced product assignment mechanism and only those products matching your criteria will display the modules. Also, any module can be selectively activated per device (desktop/tablet/phone), customer login status and other criteria. Imagine the possibilities.
