Tips: Variable frequency drive overcurrent
Overcurrent is the most frequent alarm phenomenon of VFD.

A. Phenomenon

  1. When restarting, VFD trips once speed up. This is a very serious phenomenon of overcurrent. The main reasons are: Load short circuit, mechanical parts stuck, inverter module damaged, and smaller motor torque and so on.
  2. Tripping after power on. This phenomenon cannot be reset. The main reasons are: Module broken, bad driving circuit, and bad current detection circuit.
  3. The tripping is not happening when restart but when accelerating, the main reasons are: Acceleration time setting is too short, current upper limit setting is too small, and the torque compensation (V/F) setting is too high.

B. Maintenance examples

  1. The VFD displays "OC" once starting.
Open the cover and don't find any signs of burn out. Online measure IGBT finds no problems. In order to further determine the problem, disassemble the IGBT and measure the seven high-power transistors, the opening and closing are good. When measuring the upper half of the bridge drive circuit, find a circuit is obviously different with the other two. After careful inspection, find an optocoupler A3120 output pin and negative power supply short circuit. Replace it and test again, three circuits are the same. Finally install IGBT and everything running well.
  2. A 3 hp VFD displays "OC" and cannot be reset.
First check the inverter module but don't find the problem. Second, check the drive circuit and find no abnormal phenomenon. It is estimated that the problem is not here, and may be in the part of over-current signal processing. Remove the circuit sensor and then power on showing everything is normal, so the sensor has been broken. After replaced with a new sensor, the on-load experiment shows everything normal.

Builder in Product TAB

NEW! Since Journal 3.2, the much improved T.A.B (Tabs Accordion Blocks) system supports the page builder inside the tab content. Unlimited Blocks, Tabs or Accordions with any HTML content or the builder interface (supporting custom rows/columns/modules) can be assigned to any individual product or to certain groups of products, like entire categories, brands, products with specific options, attributes, price range, etc. You can indicate any criteria via the advanced product assignment mechanism and only those products matching your criteria will display the modules. Also, any module can be selectively activated per device (desktop/tablet/phone), customer login status and other criteria. Imagine the possibilities.
